NIGHTMARE!!!
The following excerpt summarizes something that happened earlier in the book, except a little different:
Tucker finally managed to finish his hologram within the timeframe. He turned it on and listen to it recite the alphabet. The letter A swirled around in front of him.
“A is for apple,” the projector said in Tucker’s pre- recorded voice.
Tucker knew it was a bit childish, but he was proud nonetheless. He sat and
waited for the projector to continue, but it was stuck on A. He gave the projector on his desk a smack on the side.
Suddenly the letter B came up in mid air, but he could hear his dad’s voice
instead of his own. “B is for box, Tucker.”
Tucker was now standing in the middle of Los Angeles. The buildings around him were crumbling. People and cars were getting crushed, but nothing was harming him. He turned around to see his dad standing behind him holding the box.
“The box, Tucker,” Sean said as he handed the box to his son.
“I don’t know what to do with it!” Tucker said, accepting the box. The buildings around them continued to crumble.
“Find your mother.”
“Dad… don’t leave me!” Tucker could feel his heart sinking. He turned around again to see a thick cloud of dark dust behind him. It was floating in place down the street.
“…your mother…Tucker…”
“Dad!” Tucker tried reaching out to grab his father but the dust came rushing towards him, pushing him away in confusion.
A sudden light blinded him as he swung his arms around trying to clear the cloud…the covers from his bed. He opened his eyes to see the sunlight shining into his room. The sheets were now a tangled mess next to him.
