I just got finished watching the pirated copy of X-Men Origins: Wolverine online and so much for my hopes of actually seeing Deadpool in a movie, because despite a character named Wade who is vaguely referred to as a dead pool being in it, anything closely resembling the Deadpool I love is not. I knew they were probably going to take some liberties with the character and I'm all for that in movie, I wasn't expecting a complete and utter desecration of everything that makes the fucking character unique. I mean if you are going to completely fuck over an established character that badly why even use him at all, why not make it someone completely new or someone who isn't as popular? Is it going to help the sales that much by having something that is complete and utter bullshit vaguely resemble an established character just so you can appeal to a few extra fans only to turn around and shit all over them? Haven't fucking movie executives realized the power of angry nerds on the internet? Did they think people wouldn't notice or care that the ending makes no fucking sense whatsoever and completely destroys the essence of a relatively popular character? I mean sure Deadpool is no Spider-Man but he has had his own series off and on for the better part of 12 years so he's no Moon Knight either. I know there is like 15 minutes of footage that's not in the movie and that it is all Deadpool stuff but unless that includes a complete and total re-shooting of the last big fight scene (which is highly fucking doubtful) it couldn't possibly make any difference, or save the character. I'm just glad I heard rumors about how awful it was and did see the pirate version because if I had paid money to see my favorite fictional character of all time turned into THAT I would have been fucking furious. My only hope now is that Marvel Studios makes a Deadpool movie, or at least uses the real him in something else, if/when they get the rights back from Fox.
