我是失败者。

The thing about being Chinese, I realise, is that every story imaginable has a moral to it.

No, seriously. My Chinese textbook has what would be really beautiful stories, about Singapore's fading chinatown and falling flowers as a metaphor for the passing of one's father and stuff like that, but they are all irrevocably and inevitably ruined! by the subsequent moralising. things like FILIAL PIETY and DON'T LOSE THE CULTURE and DON'T FORSAKE OUR CHINESE ROOTS.

TEN WHOLE YEARS OF THIS. And the rest of this year, too. alksjdfalskdfj my whole life in Chinese class thus far has been a giant exercise in morality.  not on, 政府, not on. maybe this is entirely a Singaporean thing, but I doubt it.

so much chinese homework to do over the weekend cri cri omg. flaaaaaail.

non-fic, homework
