If you're looking for stuff that looks like thick drippy hot fudge it's actually colored hot glue not puff paint, you can order it from deco shops.

I know about the hot glue sticks and where I can get them. I just wanted to know a good thickening agent for paint.

Hi

If you are looking for 3D paint that is used as deco sauce you are looking for puff paint aka fabric paint.

Here is a tutorial I did on that using the brand 3D Scribbles
http://kawaiifrenzy.com/Blog/2010/01/deco-melting-chocolate-tutorial/

regular acrylic paint is not used as deco sauce because it is too thin, can flake and has no dimension.

However to salvage the materials you do have you can thicken acrylic paint really easily.

You can use a product by decoArt called thickening medium that will help you out
http://www.decoart.com/cgi-bin/Products.cgi?Thickening_Medium

You can also use thick glues and mix it with that to help give dimension to the paint
