silicone & clay problems + intro

Dec 13, 2010 19:09

hello there! i'm new here and that's my first time posting so i'll go with my intro first:

Name: marta
Nickname: tsuciek
Age: 23
How long have you've liked deco-den?: 3 years
How did you find out about deco-den?: from a japanese blog (can't even remember whos blog was that! :P)
List some of the things you've decorated: mobile phone crystal case, flash memory, calculator and many more

and here's my question or actually problem with using both silicone and paper clay as whipped cream. when i use silicone for making deco on a plastic surface after some time (when the silicone is fully hardened) it falls of as if it was never attached to the surface. i noticed the same problem when using silicone for making fake sweets. silicone glues together two pieces of i.e. macaron but after some time it falls apart. and there's actually nothing you can do about it because there's no glue that hold silicone sucessfully (i used silicone based glue and it kind of works but after some time it falls of too..). if it can be somehow helpful to solve my problem i use fimo and some alike clays, i have never used paper clay for making fake sweets. i also noticed that when i use silicone on a glass surface it holds perfectly and the only way to peel it of is acutally cut it off with a knife :P so i am quite confused right here.
after some experiments with silicone i started to use fuwa fuwa paper clay fake whipped cream and loved it form the start. but here's come again a problem... after drying of the clay becomes very easy to break and actually even a soft touch can break the tip of the cream off. should i use some glaze over it to make it harder and not so easy to breake?
i should also write that i don't live in the US so probably i won't be albe to buy or use exactly the same materials that you guys use for deco..

thank you in advance for any kind of help!!! <3
