[ There's that familiar 'ZAAAP!' followed by a loud 'OW'! A couple seconds later and Esther has the device turned on. She's sitting on the floor of her apartment with her back to the wall, and though she looks a lot less tired than last time, she seems distracted. Right now her mind is elsewhere. ]

I wasn't neglecting it on purpose. [ Sigh. ] At least the shock from the device isn't as bad as the one from the mistletoe. I found that one out the hard way. It's a shame that the scientists -- or whoever did this -- wasted their time and energy on hostile mistletoe instead of a more useful plant.
[ A pause as she tries to remember what she was going to ask. ]
It's the 23rd already...is there anything official being done on Christmas Eve? I haven't really been paying attention to the communicator lately.
