Thank you for writing. I appreciate the thoughtful and earnest feedback. This is precisely the student interaction I need to continue adapting courses to the Bend Campus. As you may know last term several students voiced their concerns about too much lecture and insufficient time for discussion. Many students explained to me that they learned more through peer interaction and group discussion rather than an emphasis on lecture. Hence, I decided to reorganize the format of the course as a colloquium. Although this has proved successful in the past, every group dynamic develops in unique ways and what has worked in one setting may not translate into another. Moderating successful discussions always poses a challenge, however, this term in particular has been difficult for many reasons. I am sorry you are not learning as much in this class as you did last term--that sincerely concerns me.
He's so great. Too bad people always push him around. Isn't that the same sad story?
