My big sister just called to tell me she's pregnant. Again. I swear that woman's fertility puts rabbits to shame. Congrats to her husband, too. No more protein for you, Kevin! Five kids in seven years. You'd think that at some point they'd realize that breastfeeding does not qualify as birth control...
Anyway. They're happy, I'm happy, we're a bunch of happy little critters. Can't wait to hear the name they come up with for that one. Somehow I keep thinkng that they want to have one child for every sibling of theirs so nobody would feel left out with the whole godparents thing. I got Nathan and he will go places. He's three and already has the neighbor girls fighting over him, gets candy everywhere he goes and nobody can be mad at him for longer than three seconds. What am I supposed to teach that little guy, he's a natural!
Two more weeks and I'll be heading home. Spend some time with the degenerates that are my brothers-get drunk, fall on our faces, not move, just laugh, good times-and visit sissy and the baseball team in the making. I picked up a bunch of cool gifts for the kids, some more durable instruments that make enough noise to drive Kathy wild. I'll sit in a huge armchair like the old grandpa I am to them and watch them as they drive everyone else nuts-my selective hearing is a wonderful gift I cherish in moments like that.
Well, gotta go. We're at the venue and haven't put up our equipment yet, need to do the soundcheck and Ian was blubbering about a song he wrote last night, I definitely want to be around when he tries to play it for everyone. He'll be so nervous he'll screw up, badly. Maybe I should get some vodka into that poor guy first.
