Last night I went to see Xiu Xiu.
The venue was the bar of an old hotel, it was a nice change.
Anagram opened, and I thought they were spectacular. The singer really knew how to pull of the Ian Curtis...
Xiu Xiu (well Jamie and Caralee) were really impressive. I like the records, but I was worried that the material would be boring live, but it wasn't the case.
They had a bunch of shit on stage, harmoniums, synths, drum machines, random percussion instruments, etc... and Jamie played guitar for most of the songs and they made every song interesting. His voice was really powerful. People were crying. It was weird.
I'm really excited about a bunch of shows coming up. I can't wait.
