i think it's time i added more interests
i'm getting obsessed with this musicmob stuff.
i'm going all indie again. if anyone's heard of it before, then it's shit. rah rah rah and all that.
not really, i'm still not the elitist snob i used to be. but i just seem to be listening to stuff like this a LOT lately, and wanting to go see bands for $5 down the tote, the arthouse, the punters like old times ('cept now with my lovely rollcredit on my arm ;) love you, babe )
anyway. bands i've gotten into through the mob or otherwise:
immersion - rocking, rocking band that sound somewhere between the deftones and the superjesus
the fallen - awesome band. brad's one of the best guitarists i've seen (my own band's alan included), and bec was awesome up front. sadly, they've recently broken up, but the website is still up.
falsify - they remind me of nitocris so much... i've not yet caught up with this band live, but what they sound like recorded is awesome. singer's got a hell of a voice.
swedish magazines - i don't think they have a website. but they rock, plain and simple. i wanna gig with them so bad.
emerald sea - appealing to my quieter moments, they do have a gentle majesty about them.
jaded bliss - to be honest, took me a while to get into these guys, but they're really coming into their own the times i've seen them live.
problem - again, no website, and a real strong dislike at first. however, they got a different drummer, and their singer came off the kit, and they improved 1000%. i'd say i pretty much like them now. and they continue to get us gigs.
anyway. gigs on the 27th jan @ town hall hotel, and on 30th jan @ the tote (MY WORD WE'RE PLAYING THE TOTE AGAIN!!! FINALLY!!! YIIIIII!!!!!)
