christmas kitty!
i kind of fixed up my lj in light of the coming christmas month. :] it looks kind of crappy, but hey, i hadn't done it in a while.
so i finally finished with my three tests of the week.
whew. that's a load off of my shoulders.
homecoming is this week. eeeeks. it's so exciting.
the festivities have been amazing so far. like last night we lit the eternal flame. it's this crazy old tradition where the freshman class is given an eternal flame that represents the spirit of baylor and stuff. and supposedly no freshman class has been able to keep it lit. it is preyed upon by any non-freshman. so last night during the presentation of the immortal ten and the eternal flame some crazy sophomore runs up to the stage and tries to extinguish our flame! by the time he gets up to the stage he's already been mobbed by about 15 freshmen. so there's this like brawl onstage between the crazy sophomore, the freshmen that are trying to keep our flame lit, and the security who are trying to keep everybody safe. it was insane. and then later some girls took off their shirts and ran out of the auditorium in their bras. insane, what homecoming can do to you.
ok, back to the eternal flame. after the freshman class is given the eternal flame, we walk over to the fountain mall where the flame will be kept and our class is supposed to guard it until 2 a.m. everyday until the homecoming game. so there's probably about 200 freshmen and we start forming these circles around the flame. it took a while but eventually we get organized so that there's this huge barricade around the flame. during this whole time there's been about 3-4 small attacks/skirmishes. can't penetrate our barricade. but then there's this huge crowd from brooks that has water balloons, eggs, flour and other crazy junk.. some poor girl got egg right on her head. i felt bad for her.. it was pretty scary..
but then we had to call it off around midnight cause during that big attack someone got hurt. i don't know the details and stuff, but i hope he's okay and that tonight it's not as dangerous as it was yesterday.
