Stocktake And Stuff

Yesterday was stocktake at work, and it was the first time that I worked on it without a manager there to provide me with help and advice. Sham and I were both kind of overzealous and fretful, wanting to make sure we got everything right. "I'll do that bit tomorrow morning." - "But I can do it today and then you only have that other thing left!" - "But I thought we were going to..." etc. We seemed to have reached a consensus in the end though.

More than anything it was really tiring physically! My shoulders are really sore today from constantly stretching to pick things up and put them down again. Our "stockroom", which is nothing more than a little broom closet with barely enough room in it to turn around, was particularly bad in that it took me a whole one and a half hours to sort out. Such a tiny space! But it just took forever to pull everything out, count it and put it back in again in order. I can see why Martin always looks a bit exasperated when he has to do this, heh.

In other news, when I came home from work last night, Graham gave me a weirdly expectant look, and when I asked whether anything was up he said that he was just "waiting to see whether I would notice". "It's... not cold in here," I said. Bingo! After over a month our boiler has finally been fixed and we have heating again. Happy days.
