On a single night kibum jerked up from his wet bed sheets, awaken from a bad nightmare. A nightmare where jonghyun suddenly disappeared and kibum couldn't find him no matter where he looked for. His heart beat extremely fast. He admit, even though he had to give up on jonghyun, he couldn't bare the thought of jonghyun leaving him. He felt a little weak and his throat was feeling very dry as he dropped back onto the bed.
The morning he woke up, he felt groggy and his body ached all over. Shit, he cursed as his touched his warm forehead. Nevertheless, with a slight headache, he got up from bed and prepared for school.
He couldn't miss school. It would affect his chances on getting that important scholarship.
He took the fever medicine on an empty stomach, even know doing so isn't good but his taste bud felt weird and he didn't have any appetite. He hated the feverish feeling, the intense heat inside and shivering from the cold on the outside.
Morning lessons passed like a blur for he couldn't pay much attention to what the teacher said. All he felt was the heavy head and the sleepiness that fought to take over his mind.
Before heading to lunch, taemin turned to kibum's table with a concern look spread over his face. "Key umma, are you okay? You look kinda pale and you weren't paying attention in class."
"I'm fine tae, just running a slight fever. " Kibum was sweating cold sweat and he didn't want to hide the fact he was sick, plus he felt alright. At least he thought he felt alright. However, the moment he stood up, the world went spinning in front of him. He felt a dark source pulling him in and the last thing that flashed across his mind was jonghyun's dino-like smile.

Kibum was found out to be having dengue fever and he was hospitalised immediately for treatment. Everyone in the group panicked when they heard about the news. Jonghyun panicked the most for he was afraid that he would lose key like he almost the other time. He rushed to the hospital after receiving that call. The old memories replaying hard in his mind.
During their childhood times, kibum got attacked by a new virus called - SARS. Many people was affected by it during that period of time and the cure haven't been invented yet. He had never seen key so weak before and he got really afraid that he will lose his best friend.
To make things worst, jonghyun couldn't have contact with those infected. Therefore he rarely had the chance to visit his best friend at the hospital. Until a certain time, like around a week or two later, when he found his small self in the hospital gown staring at the pale and frail body.
Kibum's condition got much worser and the doctors didn't have confidence that he could survive much longer. He was terrified, he begged his parents and the doctors to save key. He couldn't lose him, if not he wouldn't have any play mates, if not he wouldn't have any one to talk to, if not he wouldn't...there were so many things he couldn't do without kibum.
The currently and a little more matured jonghyun shivered at the past experience. Once is enough. He thank god for letting those doctors create the right cure before kibum got any worse.

They all sighed a sigh of relief when the doctor came out of the emergency room saying that kibum was doing fine. Only that his body was extremely tried and weak, he needed lots of rest.
Taemin and minho went home to rest after all that drama, they had school tomorrow after all. Jonghyun insisted not to go home and onew...well,onew could no longer bottle up his feelings. He knows every one else wanted to explode too, they all wanted jonghyun to understand the truth badly. And he knows if he doesn't take this chance to tell him to truth, kibum would just suffer forever.
"Jonghyun, I need to talk to you." Onew said. "hmmm...?" Jonghyun barely replied, eyes focus on that weak boy lying on the bed.
"Jonghyun seriously, I would really want to know what is going through you mind at this moment." Jonghyun removed his eyes from kibum to give onew a questioning look. "Are you really oblivious or acting like so? If you are acting like to be this play boy just to grab key's attention then stop it, really." Jonghyun arched his brow.
Onew shook his head. "Key, jonghyun... Key is in pain."
"Can't you see that key...is in love with you...?" Jonghyun eyes widen in shock.
"He has been in so much pain all this while, seeing you with all that girls. It hurts to see key trying so hard to be happy when we all know he isn't one single bit. Jonghyun, open your eyes and look at key again. He isn't as strong as you think he is." Onew dropped his head and walked out of the room with heavy steps, wishing hard that jonghyun will wake up from his trance.
Jonghyun just stared at that fragile looking body on that bed, his mind and heart confused. Onew left jonghyun confused and thinking. He couldn't tell what he was feeling when he received that news. Key was in love with him? Was he really being oblivious or does he already knew, from a long time ago, kibum had already liked him?
He couldn't quite understand his feelings for kibum either, but he knew a single fact, he was afraid of losing kibum. He couldn't lose his...best friend..?
