Act III Scene I: X Marks the Spot

God, yesterday was good. I woke up and fed homeless people from 10-2. It makes me feel good of myself to actually make contact with other people in the world and help them with out getting anything back. It's eye opening, too, to see babies and todlers with their parents, having to stand in line for an hour to get a hamburger and hotdog, probably being their only meal all day, if not for the next three.

Band practice was refreshing. We talked, we played, and when Racheyl left, it was just James and I. We stood outside for a while, eating chips and talking. Being with the guy is feels more and more like therapy as you know him better. Our conversation started out kind of weird. "You dating anybody." "No, they're all potheads. I can't deal with that." "That's a good thing. Kid your age are just getting into that scene, or have been there a few years." Eventually the conversation lead to something that I was hoping it would. I've been dying to talk to someone in person about my friend that I've been trying to get clean, and how I finally gave up. James understood. It's nice to hear another point of view. From actually being a druggie, and then recovering he told me alot about how he got into the scene and why, and how he's never managed to get anyone clean. It's hard. You don't wanna be the person that's there to be annoying and controling, but you can't not be. James is a saint. No doubt.

After band I went home and got ready for a party I didn't want  to go to. It was actually pretty fun. Bad middle school flash back though, some where in there, as the control bitches that used to rule the school showed up. I wanted to punch one in the face as she came up to me and my group of friends and insisted on giving hugs. Thanks, but no thanks. Does she even remeber my name?

Today's been nothing special, though. Yardwork, shower, homework later. I got an e-mail from someone who's thinking about joining my band with another one of his friends.
That makes 4 people recruited. I'm amazing.
