About the radiation detectors--a lot of officers in New York wear them because of 9/11, as the city was considered a major target and still is, so the city upped the standards and started providing the devices to the force. I think it's more officers than detectives, but it's not implausible she would have taken the training course as a top homicide detective who might be dealing with terrorists.
I thought the same thing about the shooting sequence. :D
Regarding the negative comments and the liking the episode, the more discerning and knowledgeable I get as a person (viewer, reader, etc...) the more I am able to recognize how absolutely awful something has been put together and yet still enjoy it.
There were holes amok in this episode, and random little things that didn't make sense. But because there was Castle and Beckett and witty interplay and heated looks, I was willing to completely overlook what would normally ping pretty high on my "annoy-o-meter."
1. Complete agreement. 2. I forgot to mention that in my own review, as I'm also in complete agreement with that. Annoying. 10. Oh, is that where that quote's from?! 11. It is inevitable! *knocks on wood*

The quote's not quite right, and I have a cold, so my brain is 50% cotton wadding and I can't find it, but it's something like that.

Sorry to hear you have a cold. :( Hopefully it will run its course quickly and let you have your thoughts back.
