And you are right on all counts. There are times when I would like to write more like this, just little things that occur to me without getting consumed by a fandom. Unfortunately, it rarely happens.

(I nearly put the actor's name instead of the character's name for the security guy.)

Yeah, I can see the appeal of that. Less pressure, in a way, and just more about writing.
