shouldn't you learn in medical kindergarten that you DON'T do that?

LOL, so true.

Also, I seem to recall (since I never experienced it first hand!) that the knee is one of the MOST painful places to be shot in. Reid was incredibly cool to be enduring such excruciating pain... also, I didn't really get how, in a flying tackle where he was BEHIND the doctor, he got shot in the knee. But I know it was necessary, so I won't nag too much about believability...

Also, as far as I know, Moore's leg was already broken when they shot that episode? He's supposed to have a walking cast and I remember reading they weren't even going to insert it in the storyline.

lol I thought the same thing. But I know it's necessary so I was ~letting it go.

I thought Morgan broke his leg during the filming of episode 4 or 5. I remember someone saying that about the time Reid gets out of his cast Morgan should be going into one. That would be interesting if they don't write it in. How will he tackle things? :P

about the time Reid gets out of his cast Morgan should be going into one.

I doubt that, considering MGG still isn't allowed to put weight on his leg and is still wearing his braces... ^^;; poor guy.

*facepalm* my proof reading skills fail.

I meant to say that about the time that Reid gets out of the wheelchair (and gets crutches) Morgan should be going into a cast. Right after Matthew got hurt I read an interview (with Ed maybe?) that said Reid was going to be in a wheelchair the first 5 episodes then crutches for an undetermined amount of time after that.

I srsly think the cast is jinxed. I totally agree - poor guys. I just hope nothing else happens to the rest of the cast. brb mailing them all bubble wrap. :P

it wasn't the knee though, it was his thigh, wasn't it? doesn't make the whole thing better cos one of the major ateries runs in the thigh and when you hit that with a bullet you can kiss your life goodbye and quickly too because that'll be the end of you.
and the thigh would work out because when reid pushes the doctor down, his leg is still somewhat in the air so it would've been possible to catch a bullet there.

wasn't shemar's leg broken later? like, before or during the shooting of the second or third episode. i'm curious to see if it will be noticed or not. because morgan is all like kicking doors down and running after unsubs and you simply can't do that with a cast.

I liked Haley's new hair too.

was hotch raped?

OMG I DIDN'T EVEN THINK OF THIS! I thought the guy just stabbed him in the groin again or something. But the general census is that yes, he was raped. I'm not sure what to even think about that to be honest. =/ Poor Hotch.

I still don't know about the Reid thing, but I think you're right about him wanting to keep the unsub alive. I know he hates to kill the unsubs.

And omg that bugged me, but it kinda looked like he rubbed his hands on his pants first, but still not sanitary. I really thought I mentioned that, damn, gotta get back in the hang of this. You're the second person to mention a Reid themed crisis from that thing too lol. If he gets ~shot and some blood disease I will kick some ass. That's to much for even me to believe. I mean damn, give the poor kid a break.

omg you're right about Rossi! =O Criminal Minds meets Terminator. I think I like it. lolol

there's a whole post here about the whole rape-thing. and by now i'm certain that it really did happen. in one comment the exact dialogue/monlogue is written down and to me, that doesn't leave any doubt. now i'm just wondering if he actually got raped or if it was done by the knife. because. well, that's what the dialogue leads me to ( ... )

Oh yeah I saw the bloody hands and went OMFG NO! D= but I think he tried to touch the wound as little as possible. He looked more like he was just touching his pants around the wounded area upon my rewatch of that scene.

And I rewatched the Hotch scene too and I still can't decide on what happened. I think the unsub stabbed his groin area w/ the knife. Or could have very well raped him with the knife. idk I'm going to have to wait and see. =/

the bloody hands
I cannot get over the bloody hands. Combined with the writers' propensity for torturing Reid, I can only assume the HIV arc is on its way

I think the unsub stabbed his groin area w/ the knife. Or could have very well raped him with the knife.
No, if he used the knife as a stand in for the rape act, either by stabbing him in the groin or raping Hotch with the knife, then him going on about how wrong the profilers were to assume that stabbing was a stand in for the act itself was ridiculous and unnecessary. I doubt that this guy has an extraneous bone in his body. This leads me to believe he raped Hotch. If this is what happened, however, we can count on the writers mentioning it once or twice in the next couple of episodes, then never mentioning it again (unless Hotch begins attending SA meetings, a la Dilaudid-addicted!Reid)

You're right about the dialogue *nods* I just don't want to think about how that's going to destroy Hotch. Esp since he already keeps everything compartmentalized - this is just going to make it worse. =/

It also explain Hotch's fairly flat affect and sort of wooden emotional read in the end of the episode. After extreme psychological trauma, that would be much more expectable (I think) than after (relatively) simple physical trauma.

but what threw me. the camera focus was on the hands for a second or two. and it could be just me but when the focus is on something, it might lead to something else further down the road.

yup. wait and see. but better not keep me waiting too long, i wanna know and patience isn't my best feature.

Is it really the general census that he was raped? I was confused about the line so I didn't comment on it but I'm glad to see people picked up on it.
I thought he was maybe just stabbed in the groin since he stabbed him one last time after saying it.

I dunno... clearly there's more that needs to come out. I don't even know how Hotch could deal with something like that though.

Yeah that's what I thought too. That's why I didn't really mention anything about it in my post. I didn't think it was rape, but most people are saying it was. I guess we'll have to wait and see.

And yeah, I don't even know how Hotch is going to handle it either. I mean he's a strong man, but I think trying to bare that burden if he was in fact raped might be the breaking point for him.

one thing i really need to know though. was hotch raped?

I have that same burning question. If he was, which was heavily implied, I'm not sure of the extent to which they can/will acknowledge that on the show. But based on what the guy (Reaper? Forgive my total ignorance of season 4, my class schedule sucked) was saying, I can't but believe that he did, in fact, rape Hotch. Otherwise, he was having an extremely disturbing non-sequiter monologue while stabbing Hotch repeatedly in the abdomen, which speaks to a whole 'nother level of mental disturbance in this guy
