Wonderful plotting, wonderful sex scene (Hotch straddling Reid in that chair and driving him to distraction just...yeah... I'll hold on to that image for a bit.), and even more wonderful character portrayal. I still really, really love your take on these guys; you write both Reid and Hotch beautifully.
If you're anything like me, I'm sure you worry about whether the plot is working, so I'll point out that it truly does. It's an excellent case and I'm all excited now to see the part where they catch up with the unsub. And I adored how Reid cracked the case at the height of orgasm. So perfectly him.
There are so many great things in here, primarily because you have such attention to detail, making everything so vivid. This was my favourite thing, though:
"Tonight," Hotch said. "I didn't expect you to be so abandoned."
"Me either." How can I say 'You set me free'? You cage me and my soul opens. You hold me down and I can soar. Does he know? That's scary...
Tears flooded his eyes. Hotch saw. "What's wrong?"
A struggling smile. "Not wrong." So right. And so unbelievable. "I wanted it so long and I didn't even know what I wanted."
Hotch looked puzzled. It was a strange expression on him, between tender and ferocious.
Thanks so much! I really hope I can keep the plot working okay as they actually *encounter* the guy finally! Heh. I know I need to make him extra-creepy.
I liked the chair idea too, I think it would be fun! That is, if I were as skinny as Reid, koff. Course, anything with Hotch would be fun -- he's such a man! So glad you like them & I will try to write faster. They are feeling strangely unromantic right now but that's okay because they have an unsub to catch. :-)
