For the first time in what seemed like forever, I went to the park the other day. Despite light rain it was great. Being close to nature, trees; it's something I should do more often. I found I missed it. As well as cyclists and dog walkers I saw lots of joggers. It's a big park; you can be a fair distance from traffic. It didn't occur to me before I went but you know what? Starting to jog there would be awesome toning exercise, given the variety of hard and softer grass surfaces. It's free. There a greater chance I'd actually do it too. Unlike other best laid plans. *cough Pilates DVD cough*
My bedroom also saw some progress at the weekend. No not that sort! :P Floor-ceiling fitted wardrobe/cupboards, which I never used, took up stacks of space. With their removal the room seems so much bigger. ...I need to re-decorate. What made it happen were expertise and power tools supplied by my dad. Devising the order in which to remove sections was second nature to him. I got to thinking how we all have different skillsets. Pigeonholing ourselves into other roles, or temporarily learning new skills we're less suited might not be The Best Thing. Granted, there may be financial reasons not to always hire an 'expert'. And, I accept that spending time and money bringing ourselves to the point we can do xyz can be an investment.
