Is this a visitor's curse of some kind? It's a little strange. Not bad, I suppose, in fact I was asked for a hug twice when I went to get groceries today. Usually the reaction I get is quite the opposite. Random, but I'm not really complaining.
I would ask if anyone from back home is around, but I think almost everyone who knew me is already here.
