Does anyone else use Bio-Mags? I housesitted (well, cat-sitted really) for friends this weekend, and they told me yesterday evening that the mattress and pillows on their bed - which I'd used - have magnetic underlays. I'd never heard of them before, but they swear by them. The bed was appallingly soft, but I didn't get the sore bad that such a mattress usually gives me. Thoughts? Comments?

The big bonus of housesitting for R&S was the outdoor spa pool they recently had installed. alasatyr and I made use of it on Friday evening - it took us a little while to get Sabby out of the way first (she's an indoors at night cat, and she did NOT want to go upstairs so we could open the french doors). But it was worth the trouble it took us to get outside and use it - marvellously hot water, pummelly-good jets, and great red wine. We had a small accident with the bubbles knocking over one of the tumblers, but it was nearly empty at that stage So not too much harm done - although the spa smelled a little odd after that. But I 'fessed up to R&S, and it's OK.

(The weekend was a red-wine klutz one for me, as I managed to spill a little on the carpet on Saturday afternoon - judiciously soaked up with some salt - and then knock my glass all over the table-cloth while Ben and I were having dinner on Saturday. Washing machines are very useful ...)

Speaking of dinner on Saturday: R&S smoked us a Kawhai before they went away, so I re-heated it in the oven and made a garden-fresh salad with S's specialty vinaigrette. Sabby hung around - she wanted fish, but we ate it all up and then curled up to watch a little Buffy and Angel. I got to use my long-dormant l33t fire-lighting skills, setting one up in the lovely open fire-place - it made the whole house lovely and warm. When it was a little later in the evening we stripped off and relaxed nude in the spa, looking at the stars (without red wine ...) It was completely heavenly! We were absolutely knackered after all that energy expenditure though, so it was a quick shower and then off to sleep the sleep of the sluttily-just.

We took Sunday quietly. I slept until nearly midday; we took a walk up to the bakery and around the block, and hung out and played with Sabby until R&S got back from Christchurch. Then we sat around and drank wine (white!) before going off to dinner at Nishiki in Freeman's Bay. I've been there a few times before, and wanted Ben to experience the wondrousness that it their Miso Eggplant, along with their other great plates. Had a lovely dinner with R&S - this was their thank-you for looking after Sabby - and they dropped us home shortly after 10pm.

My dreams continue with the weirdness. Mum is in a lot of them, but my Nana (Dad's mother) has been in two in the last week as well. Dead family seem to be popping up all over the place.

I was vaguely crabby yesterday, and apologised to Ben frequently as I caught myself being slightly less than my usual pleasant self. Mother's Day was the last time I saw Mum, and while I wasn't dwelling on it, knowledge of that permeated just a little.

Taz and I will be catching up on Thursday to have dinner together. Low key, but good for us to spent the evening. I'm going to his place, and it'll be weird to be on the same street that we grew up on, and less than 2km (as the crow flies) from where she killed herself.

For those of you not speaking the language, the last few Subject Headings have been in Esperanto. Just because it's fun. Thanks, laputain, for getting me playing with it again; and darthsappho for challenging me with your replies.
