How to make a happy Debs
Or, Things that have made me smile this week, by Deb, aged nearly-29
~ Walking to the corner café from work and noticing little blue forget-me-nots growing on the grass outside the office.
~ Finding a beautiful paper parasol (smaller than my big one and bigger than my small one) at the Salvation Army store and it only costing $2.
~ Relaxing in the bath and having Ben sitting on a chair talking with me and both cats randomly pushing the bathroom door open and considering poking the bathwater with their paws before deciding that annoying each other is more interesting and going away again.
~ Painting my toenails a bright purple and having Sparky admire the colour.
~ Walking to the bagel shop and enjoying the way the sun shines through my shirt just enough that I can see the swell of my breasts beneath the fabric.
~ Finding a belly-dancing class for me and fire_feather to go to.
~ Clearing my post box and finding the graphic novel I ordered had arrived. And a postcard from claireoujisama. Thinking of her sitting in France chewing on her pen and drinking coffee and enjoying the sights as I read the postcard in the sunshine.
~ Ambling around the supermarket with Firecracker and discussing different types of mayonnaise.
~ Ben telling me he loves me. Firecracker telling me she loves me. Sparky telling me he loves me.
~ Sprawling on the couch in the afternoon sunshine to read the graphic novel (Buffy - Slayer Interrupted) and having Moss curl up next to my feet.
~ Moss and Cwnn driving me insane, but knowing they love me in their retarded own special fashion.
~ Coming home from work and spending an hour, by myself, completely naked on the bed, simply enjoying the delights of my body (see - current icon).
~ Chopping up zucchini and cherry tomatoes and spring onions and mushrooms and celery for a pasta salad to eat with Sparky and Firecracker.
~ Walking into RPL's house and smelling the freesias arranged in a vase on the dining table.
~ Knowing that it's Friday night and I have two days of no work, three of my favourite people, and heaps of sleeping-in time to look forward to.
