Time
Totally forgot to say last week that TwoHeadedCat had updated with my latest column:
Keeps on Slippin'. Kill some time (ahem); have a read.
I’ve been thinking about time. Time travel, to be more specific. Leaving aside the scientific hypotheses about whether it’s even possible, time travel remains one of those concepts that never fails to capture my interest.
Many of the science fiction books I read growing up delved into the future, such as The Door into Summer and Farnham’s Freehold by Heinlein, The Time Machine by Wells, The End of Eternity by Asimov. Others traveled back into the past, with the Time Wars Series by Simon Hawke making frequent forays into my reading pile.
I don’t think I’d particularly like to travel forward in time. I’m getting to the future under my own steam, and I think I like it that way. Going into the past, on the other hand … there are so many possibilities! To interact, to learn - and to interfere.

Things to do in Haven with the Dead
The Buffy roleplaying game had its third session yesterday. It seems to be trekking along nicely, with suitably thickening plot, and good character interaction. Lots of sewers, vamps and fighting.
Seamus, my character (and nominal white-hat), finally had an opportunity to tell the rest of the group about his handy ability yesterday, so now I can contribute some background information about that to the
gazebo_volante community. For those interested: Seamus is forgettable - very handy in his line of work, which is information gathering. It can make things a little difficult when it comes to feeling part of the team, especially when they keep forgetting his name, but otherwise extremely useful. Of course, the better someone knows Seamus, the easier it is for them to remember him.
This is Seamus:
He's lost the mustache now, but he does still love his beanie. In fact, Seamus has quite the hat collection :)
Life
I've been overdoing it a little bit, recently. But still coping. Work is going really well. Social life is stuttering, as I take some more time for myself. Still, spent the evening out on Saturday, and the afternoon and early evening on Sunday. So not too bad.
Migraine is still there (no surprises). But generally behaved, albeit a little more noticeable that usual. The wobbly legs hit me after acupuncture last Tuesday - I'll be interested to see if it does that again tomorrow.
I'm getting a hair-cut! Praise Jeebus! Just a few inches off, but it will be very lovely to lose the split ends (the last hair-cut was before FuzzyMum visited in July). I'm tempted to dye it back to black, as I haven't dyed it for years. But if I do, it'll be at home, not the salon.
Why is the weather so whacked out at the moment?
