Joss' Lederhosen fan cries ...
So we saw the NZ Preview of Serenity this evening, along with many hundred excited and geeky Aucklanders (and Hamiltonians who drove up). Not to fear, there are NO SPOILERS in this post - y'all can read safely.
Joss had recorded a video message that played between the trailers and the film. Sneaky Joss, looking all innocent and pleased with the Browncoats/multicolouredcoats/Lederhosen wearers. Sneaky Joss, being all complimentary and nice ... so that we would forget that he likes to play the heart-stompy game! That's not a spoiler. That's just Joss. Dammit.
I've been crying at the drop of a hat for the last few weeks, and many of you can attest. At appears that movies are not immune - I cried just seeing the ship again; I cried just seeing the cast again; I cried during every single damn important plot point - none of which shall be mentioned here. The tears, they were a'rolling. Just because they could (I'm tempted to say that no power in the 'verse would stop them, but to be honest, I just ignored them, let them keep rolling, and watched the film).
Which reminds me, those of you who've already seen a preview - HOWINTHEHELL have you managed to keep your mouths shut the last few months? I admire you immensely.
I shall, of course, write a COMPLETELY NON-SPOILERY review (once I've let my brain pan settle some). And go and see Serenity again, oh, just a lot few more times once it comes out here.
