Almost there...
Week 5 of the WaT has been an interesting one...I've been trying something new: morning writing. I've tried to get a good chunk of wording in before work each day this week (easier on the days I worked at home). Most of you know I'm not a morning person, so stop laughing at the thought of me writing coherent sentences while sipping that first cup of coffee. Or at least, don't laugh so hard.
In truth, I don't know how much of the text will be usable, but it's opening some new directions for the story. I plan to continue this route next week, which should be a little easier since they're all work-at-home days (and harder because they're edit-my-butt-off-for-work at home days).
Right now, I've done 6 of my 7k goal for the week, and will finish off tomorrow morning at approximately 35,500 total for the novel manuscript.
But now my characters have started using Viking runes in their computer code script as a way of encrypting information, and I just don't know what to think of that.
In Apex news, I'm putting the final editorial touches on the steampunk novella from Sara M. Harvey, due out in 2009. Sara's a fellow theatre techie (though she's a costumer, which I do NOT do--sewing machines are afraid of me) so expect to see a richness of detail and as authentic a steampunk universe as one can find in this reality.
There will be more Apex news coming soon, but for now,
