2011 - Day 95

Apr 05, 2011 20:32

I had to have some injections this morning and then worked this afternoon.

As I had a gap in the middle I drove into the city, and met Claire for lunch. I parked at the back of where my brother works - thought you might like to see the road. All lawyer firms along here - beautiful house, though ... must be some great history.

Lawyer firms do tend to be in beautiful houses everywhere. Hope the injections weren't for anything serious?

Glad you could have a nice lunch with Claire.

That road is stunning - isn't it?

The injections were Hepatitis and the booster for my MMR (working in a hospital, they are a necessity) ... but, no, suprisingly pain free this time.

I think Claire and I talked more than ate!

That road is beautiful - and great to see greenery right on the edge of the City centre.

Tim has specialised in Family Law ... and now specialises in family with mental health issues ... he's good at his job, likes it, but I do wonder how much of the stress will get to him.

I worked for a family law attorney for a couple of years in Las Vegas. The most stressful part was the clients! Sometimes, I'd just want to shake them - like the woman who faxed a letter to her ex every single week and cc'd my boss, demanding the return of 1 and a half pairs of socks her child had left behind. The child was five. At $1.00 a page to fax from a storefront, which she did, she could've saved the money and bought the socks herself. I'm sure it was the principle of the thing to her but I couldn't, eventually, help seeing it as anything but a control issue. It's very satisfying when the clients are happy, though! Hope your brother enjoys what he does.

He's done quite a lot of work with battered women, and finds it hard to see them go to court, then leave ... and meet the guy round the next corner.

Working with people can both make you laugh ... and cry (often at the same time!!)

It is lovely - especially as it is literally 3 mins walk from the City centre.
