Had to google the word physio. We call it Physical therapy here in the States. Did they twist and turn your body in different directions? I went to physical therapy for my back when I hurt it. I was never so up close and personal with a female like I was during those treatments. I swear that woman had my ankle behind my ear a few times. I'm not limber so it was an experience. Hope the treatments give you some relief.
Yes, I remember when I spoke to James in Cradiff when he had his broken finger he asked if I was a Physical therapist ... England/USA ... physios/osteopaths/chyropractors ... we are all similar but different.
My physio is great - but I don't actually have treatment!!! Just exercises and advice. Although, as I have just told curiouswombat I got told off for being too hard on myself. It has, in all honesty, spooked me as to how badly I breath.
So I now have to go away concentrate on my exercises, but forget the poor breathing the rest of the day .... cutting down on the stress.
As to the "hands on" ... I do know what you mean as that is what I do to patients!!!!!! Amazingly I do get some men who would prefer not to have the treatment from a female practioner.
From what I've heard, usually the physical therapists get annoyed because people don't work hard enough! (There's a town called Plymouth about half an hour for me.)

I think there are a lot of Plymouths around - In Plymouth we have Mayflower steps, where the people for the Mayflower departed - here

A great physio though - she is head of respiration at Derriford) and is great at accepting that as a health-care individual, I was going to freak out!
