While we were visiting Epasus we also went to The Basilica of St John that was on the outskirts. It was built in the 4th century around the grave of St John (the apostle who wrote both the Gospel, as well as the book of Revalation). His grave was ransacked some centuries later, but the location of where it was is still known -

Lovely carpets! I expect they were expensive!

They were expensive, but amazingly soft. They were slightly upset that they didn't manage to see any ... but as someone said the one they liked was over £2000, a lot of money to just find
