Clacton Trip Photos 2

Jul 20, 2016 18:58

When I was younger we used to come to Clacton to visit the family, and a few times even had a dip in the sea.

Not this time .... but Auntie Joyce did take Jiffy and I to the beach, so we could see the area again, and also enjoy a walk.

Oh, I do like to be beside the sea-side )

What a scenic spot. How do the beach huts work? Are they privately owned or do people rent them to change in/store their beach gear? I've never seen them on a US beach.

The beach huts are either privately owned, or council. The council ones are either rented by the year or by the week. So locals can own or rent, as can the weekly holiday makers.

How lucky to be so close to the sea. I think I 'd be there every day for a walk and a little sit down in one of those shelters.

Auntie Joyce used to always spend her lunchtime on the front. I will admit when I lived near the sea I didn't go as often as I should (I now regret that)

I grew up by the sea and miss it a lot where I live now. So I really loved your beach pictures! (Though they made me feel extra nostalgic.)

There is something really special about the sea, isn't there?

Where are the crowds of beach goers? The beaches are lovely and empty.

Sadly I think most of them had headed straight to the slot machines, etc on the pier.

Wonderful photos! Are the windmills located offshore (or is that an optical illusion)?
