I played clarinet in a wind band .... was one of the few non military members.

I also played clarinet and saxophone in a classical orchestra.

I am out of practice but am going to start again for my own amusement

Yes I loved both band and orchestra, and really love travelling, whether it is abroad, or just to the next town. There is always something fascinating to discover.
