A friend of mine has a cat that is not getting along well with the other cats in her household and she needs to find Lola a better home. My friend lives in West Virginia and will deliver the cat to a place within ~100 miles. Here's a pic of the cat and her plea:
Last fall a trio of stray cats camped out on our door step, hungry and in need of shelter. Being hopelessly insane, my partner and I took in two of the most persistently desperate cats, the orange/white and the tabby. The little black cat wandered in and out and then drifted away at the onset of a harsh winter.
Lola (so dubbed for her coquettish ways) re-appeared this summer, scraggly and emaciated and pregnant. Despite all common sense that dictated taking her to a shelter (a death sentence in my county), we took her in as well and ran her through the whole regimen of spaying, shots, flea eradication. After a few months of good food, she's blossomed:
Unfortunately, her former camaraderie with Cricket and Flora has evaporated after a long separation, or perhaps it simply can't survive the current feline population density in our household. Her aggression level with our other 3 cats is going up, rather than down, under the pressure, and the tension level is simply not acceptable. She needs her own home.
Despite her life as a stray (or perhaps because of it), Lola shows no interest in going outside, so she will make a wonderful inside cat. She loves people and is very affectionate, settling into any available lap. She's young enough to still be playful and can be easily entertained with toys.
USD$40 adoption fee to a good home. Spayed, feline-leuk negative, all her shots, and recent flea meds. Will deliver at no additional cost within a 100m radious of our home, which covers Baltimore, Washington DC and points west of there all the way to Winchester, VA.
