Christmas Eve

Having planned to pretty much go nowhere today I was forced into a trip to Lavenham to avoid Christmas being cancelled (because some numpty broke the corkscrew and couldn't find the spare). Actually, it was really pleasant, not crowded, everyone in the festive mood, corkscrew speedily purchased at the lovely shop in the market square where, in proof that one can purchase almost anything there, the nice man brought forth four corkscrews of various varieties and expounded the merits thereof, I purchased two, one of the"waiter's friend" variety which I favour and one of the "doll shaped thing lifting her arms" variety, also a pot of chilli jam and another gift for The Boy (for whom I've already wrapped several gifts,) and some dark chocolate ginger... that shop is dangerous! Have come home and opened the windows to let some fresh air and sunshine in (Numfar is not amused) and sorted out the various gifts into "Stuff to take tomorrow" "stuff to keep here until I see people" "Stuff to put under the Christmas Tree and, shamefully "Stuff I forgot to post which I will need to rectify on Thursday". Something attempted, something done hath earned a glass of orange juice and lemonade,
