Chaos Demon!

Though not so much with the slime and antlers :)

I'm continuing with the step by step cleaning of the things and was going to tackle the Welsh Dresser today. Then I got ambitious!

Deciding that sorting out the dresser was insufficiently challenging I turned my attention to the book cases which run the entire length of the big room; On top of the cases ( which go from floor to about two feet from the ceiling|) is a collection of vases, apothecary jars,a rather lovely old Singer sewing machine and other niceties.

The plan was simple; get the stepladder, take everything down, dust and wipe the top of the bookcase, clean all the things, replace them then work down shelf by shelf doing likewise with the books. All was going swimmingly until I was taking down a large Victorian Meat plate ( pretty but enormous) , which proved to have an associated annoyed arachnid.

I stepped back in surprise and alarm, realised that this was not a good idea as I was up a stepladder, put my hand onto the second shelf down to steady myself and the shelf tilted showering the floor, the ladder and myself with The Boy's set of "The Complete Illustrated History of WW2 in a gazillion parts ;now in even bigger volumes with specially weighted spines for maximum terminal velocity".

Almost all of them missed me and nothing got broken!

In a minute I will go and start dealing with the chaos I have created.

The dresser would have been a better idea.
