Oh don't you just love it when things like (4) happen?

One of our bookshelves did it about a month back.........

Argh!

My bookshelves are sturdy but there is a deeply shameful book cupboard in which books stand three deep on the shelves and lean in teetering piles on the floor.. occasionally an ominous rumbling from within alerts me to a book avalanche situation. I simply have to find time to sort that cupboard out!

One of the reasons we'll be moving some time next year- we need more library space!

I dream of having a proper library.. with a fireplace and central table and one of those lovely curvy sets of steps to get to the shelving at ceiling level, till then there are bookcases in every room of the house, even the bathroom.

We've seen one house which would be perfect so are crossing fingers it's still on the market when we can go snap!

We have the issue of being two historians of different periods who cover work in four languages!

There's a Georgian house in Wem that has a first floor 'receiving room'- 27'x 12'.
