Orycon

Spent the weekend at Orycon here in our fair city of Portland. Had a table in the dealer room for the first time where we did pretty decent business. In the rotten economic state of things, I wasn't expecting much, so I was very pleasantly surprised.

Didn't go to any programming on account of the long hours of commerce, but shared several very enjoyable meals with people I don't get to see nearly often enough including, Ray Vukcevich, Jerry and Kathy Oltion, Eric Witchey and Elyn whose last name I've forgotten, Julie Nordeen, Mark and Melissa Teppo, and others. Made a brief cameo at the Friday cheese soiree where I finally met Jeff Soesbe in person (which was nice). Caught up with Diana Rodgers and Devon Monk (two of my favorite Wordos). Devon's book party was a hoot! She had a giant blow-up of her book cover where you could have your photo taken with the author (which I did). Lots of fun! Nicholas had a good time, too.

We were home by 4:30 yesterday, too, which was nice. Tired, but energized, so I sat on my couch and watched a basketball game (Xavier-Memphis in Maui) and read Devon's book, Magic to the Bone. If you haven't already, you're going to be hearing about this book. I'm loving it. http://www.amazon.com/Magic-Bone-Devon-Monk/dp/0451462408/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1227542394&sr=1-1

No school for N all week (I love his school) so I slept in this morning. And now to work!
