By any chance, does anyone know of any free, safe and reliable software for making screen captures from streaming video? The Peregrine nest I watch has a new FalconCam that streams video instead of taking a still shot at two minute intervals. I want to continue to be able to take screen captures of nest activity. Thanks - I do know the Print Screen key method, and I'll use it as a last resort. The problem I have with it is the number of steps involved for each snap-shot I take. Each time I print the screen I have to paste it into Paint, select the FalconCam portion of the screen print, copy it, paste the cropped image onto a new, blank Paint screen, and then save that to the designated folder on my hard-drive. When significant nest activity is happening I won't be able to take snapshots in quick succession, if I need to. So, I'm hoping to find free software that will let me save snapshots from the streaming video with just a click or two.

I've been Googling under various key words since I'm not sure of the correct terminology for what I want;i.e. video screen capture, video frame capture, video snapshot? I've found a few possibilities, but none of them refer to saving snapshots from live, streaming video - snapshots from web-cams, movies and DVDs, yes, but not from a live, streaming video. The functionality would probably still apply, but I'm just not sure. Hence, I'm playing it cautious, hoping for either a recommendation arising from personal experience, information on the internet specifically about this capability.

Thank you for replying.
