My friend wrote this about Seattle, while traveling around Europe. I liked it too much not to share...
"And it seems there is nowhere left to go anymore. Nowhere left to adopt. Nowhere left to run.
But then I remember that place. A place where space is always for rent atop seven hills à la Rome, and minimum wage is ridiculously respectable yet will never truly suffice. Where capitol is a rosebud, and cha cha is the language of seedy bar love. In this place, the queen lounges lakeside, and baseball killed the king. Stars are delivered in mugs, and the five drives on forever.
There is a place where west bridges east (twice), ferries navigate islands, and the bottleneck chokes from exhaust fumes all the days long. Every quarter boasts a market, and at least three weeks of the year there really is no prettier place to be."
