So every weekend for the past little while, I go to the button and needlework store in Trounce alley in order to ogle the Blue Sky Alpaca yarn that is suggested for this sweater vest I am dying to make.
And then I snap out of it and think to myself, I can't possibly by six skeins of something. That's nonsensical! It is wrong to spend one's food money on yarn.
But then, I end up purchasing some sort of consolation yarn. The first week, it was Shi Bui merino sock yarn. Probably, about 20 bucks in total. The next week, it was a ball of Berroco Comfort sock. A cheap consolement, at only 8 dollars. This past weekend, it was a small ball of cotton-linen blend, to make a washcloth with (all of my former washcloths have mysteriously vanished). Anyway, that was about ten dollars.
The point is, that if I had just bought the vest yarn to begin with, I would have actually saved money, because I wouldn't have then had to go there every weekend thereafter.
So I shall throw caution into the wind, and in-vest, as it were.
It's the only way to keep me from going back to that shop every weekend!
From that point forward, every time I think I want to go down that road, I will diligently work on my vest instead. Diligently! I promise!
