I am trying to add my new credit card to site and it won't let me. I think LJ has been having problems. Has anyone else had this problem? My old card is cancelled. They said extending my package for 3 more months, but I have to pay to keep my Icons and account eventually. Let me know if anyone has any info. It has something to do with the sanctions against Russia over the invasion of Ukraine so I don't know when, or if, it will be possible to add new cards and make payments. At least the three months extension will give people some breathing space.

Hope you guys are doing okay otherwise.

Oh no! That is terrible. Of all times for my card to have to be cancelled. I bought something off a bad site last Christmas, we had to cancel the card and it was the one for this site too. I hope they will let me enter my new card eventually. I wonder why it hit LJ. Is it like that on other sites? I think this is the only social one I pay for. I don't want to have to upload my icons again but if they won't let me pay in the 3 month time I guess I will loss my professional account. :(

I hope you are doing ok. We haven't talked in a while. This war is horrible. Puttin is a monster.

Just LJ as far as I know since it was sold to Russia some years ago and is therefore affected by the sanctions.

You might not lose your icons, although if I were you I'd make copies of them just in case. I don't pay for extra icons, but I let my subscription lapse for a few months and when I paid back in January (because they were offering a special deal), I found I still had all my professional package perks and my icons were still there. With any luck, if you can't pay for a while you'll just find you can only use 15 of your icons until you're able to pay again.

I'm battling on. Turned 60 last month.

Oh I didn't know we got 15 icons without an account. I remember when they gave us only 3 icons unless we paid them. Yeah I will make copies of them. I have them all in folders, but will have to search through them all again. I had no idea Russia owned this site. Yikes ( ... )

It's why all payments are now in roubles so I get charged extra for the currency switch *sigh* If it wasn't for the Torchwood communities on LJ, I would have left years ago but I want to retain access to what fics still remain.

My health problems keep getting worse and I'll likely have to have more tests soon. I was hoping to wait until I had my Covid booster, but I don't know if I'll get the choice. Have to get another appointment with the Doctor soon because the treatment he put me for a month isn't helping.

Roubles? Great, I know nothing about this. Maybe it is best that my new card never got added to pay for this year. I know I am not here much so kind of stupid to stay. You are one of maybe 2 or 3 people that remember me here. I always enjoyed talking to you. I know you are not on Facebook so can't find you there. I am mad at FB anyway, why I wanted to come back here and the icons are fun, but kind of not worth it anymore. I hate this war, and everything is so bad. I feel so much for those poor people ( ... )

I'm still on dreamwidth, under the same name as here, and still posting my fics both there and on LJ. I prefer dreamwidth these days, the people who run it do a great job and keep everyone up to date with any problems that occur and what they're doing to fix them.

I hate the war too, so many people trying to get away. I don't want to let Russia have any more 0f my money so when I run out of paid time I probably won't renew again, just stick with a basic free account.

Got to organise my Covid booster, and after that I'll get a doctor's appointment. One thing at a time is all I can deal with.

I'm still writing and posting fics, and all my Master Lists are up to date. Feel free to poke around my journals, here or on dreamwidth. Everything's there.

I may start going to Dreamwidth more then. I did get a response from LJ, but not sure if I want to try to pay. I am not here much, seems kind of silly. 15 icons can be enough anyway. Also don't like that they are owned by the Russians. Dreamwidth sounds great. I will probably go over there now and I guess at some point they will get rid of my professional account here. They are giving me till July anyway ( ... )

A lot of people ate migrating to dreamwidth. It's a lot busier there than it was. I've had an account there since 2009 I think. I'm still posting here, but dreamwidth is my online home.

My booster is booked for the 15th, unless it gets cancelled. My second vaccine kept getting cancelled and I had to keep re-booking. I can get it done very locally in a pharmacy. When the vaccines first came out, people had to travel to vaccine centres. My neatest was in the next city, way too far for me to go, especially since the one-way system is complicated and I don't know my way around it. So I had to wait until I could go somewhere closer.

Your brother was lucky he was vaccinated. He might have ended up in hospital otherwise. I seem to have avoided catching it, but I hardly go anywhere and I always wear a mask when I'm around other people.

Yes, you might as well just leave paying and make do with a free account here. I managed for months that way.
