Went to cult gym at 7:30am. Go Me!
Came back and everybody was pretty much done with the bathroom and a few brave folk checked out the Continental breakfast down the hall. I had a quick shower. Continental breakfast was a bust, but we had lots of Tammy's scones and lemon cake for breakfast. Yum!
Disneyland!!!
Indiana Jones ride, then Pirates. Haunted Mansion. Do not try and fit 3 adults in a doomsday coupe. Squish squish squish. Waits were not too long, though it was the longest I've ever waited for Pirates. Usually it's a walk on.
Lunch at the Cafe in New Orleans' Square. Yum. For every $30 you spent in the cafe, you got a collector Pirates coin. I gave mine to Kyle - he loved it =)
Sometime during the day, we rode It's a Small World and Thunder Mountain (no wait!).
Dinner at the Trattoria in CA Adventure. Can't remember if we rode the Rapids ride and Soaring Over CA on Monday too.
Main Street Electrical Parade!!!! OOOH I'm eight again. I love watching that parade. We all sat on the curb and watched as the snails and the tortoises and the blue fairy and all the rest went by. Lights lights lights!!! squeeeeeee =)
Back to Disneyland - did the Astroblaster, Matterhorn (always best after dark) and Space Mountain. Did a bit of window shopping as we walked out - hadn't gotten off Space Mountain until after the park officially closed.
Tuesday - I think we started out with Splash Mountain and Haunted Mansion again. Pirates? or was the line long?
CA Adventure. Tower of Terror. Much fun! Avoid it if you hate elevators and sudden stops *weg*
Lunch at the Pacific Wharf - disappointing cantina food - should have gone for the clam chowder in a bread bowl and damn the consequences. Couldn't really find the alcohol in the Strawberry Margarita. Oh well.
We had originally thought about eating at Ariel's Grotto, but it was expensive and had a set menu - too much seafood for certain members of the group. Maybe for a special occasion.
Did CA Screaming - it's much better now that I know to keep my head back as soon as the countdown starts for take off.
Alex, Mat and Kev decided to do the crazy gondolas on the ferris wheel. I've rode them once... and that was more than enough. So Tammy, Sean & I waited for them at the bottom.
My tummy was a bit queasy from CA Screaming, so I munched on some popcorn - as did Sean - which meant he was feeling just as queasy - he hates popcorn. Tammy munched too, but I don't know if it was because it just smelled good or her tummy wasn't happy with her either. Then, I just closed my eyes and took a short nap. The only problem with meeting up with friends you haven't seen in a while is that you usually end up staying up all hours of night. Sleep? Who needs sleep?
Rode the bumble bee swing thing in the giant orange. Oooh dizzy. I forgot that it did the up/down dips. Alex & I skipped the Mulholland drive roller coaster. Tummy was still going up and down and I didn't want to feel bad for dinner.
Dinner! Blue Bayou! I love going to the Blue Bayou. Gumbo was lovely. Souvenir menus with Pirates of the Carribbean motif. Desserts that were edible but not! There were ice cream boats with chocolate masts and white sugar sails (with the Pirates logo on it). Kev & Alex almost broke teeth trying to eat the mast. We found a wick in one of them. The sail was supposed to be edible - maybe if you soaked it for a few days... Treasure chest made of chocolate too - not bite-able.
Then there was tale of Alex & the bathroom. Apparently, the restaurant was having water problems - they were going to close off the inside bathrooms. Well, guess who was in the still in the bathroom when the service person locked the main door? We all watched and waited. Alex finally exited but he was very confused... *grin* At least you could exit from the inside. Foxy's lj on this can be found
here.
What did we ride after dinner? We did close out the park again. Sometime during the day we did hit Downtown Disney too...
