But it looks like we are probably leaving today. YAY. Ten days. One can get pretty weirded out after a few days in the hospital...
Technically, mother is in an "isolation" ward, which requires that anyone coming in should be gowned, masked and gloved. This stopped after the first 3 or 4 days because...it just did. Everything kind of relaxed. She's 90 and not running around. Whatever the reasons, the standards relaxed pretty quickly. However, a new nurse appeared last night who wasn't familiar with the case and when she walked in, she was very "suited up"-the whole 9 yards. I understand (and respect) that she was following the rules, but people all around her were not wearing hazmat gear. I felt bad for Mom. When we asked for an extra blanket, the nurse returned with it and stood in the doorway saying, "Hey!" and THROWING it into the room. Wow. Really? Way to make the old lady feel toxic. Do you NOT see your peers and coworkers walking around in here? So, while Mom was in the bathroom getting ready for bed, I suited up with all the gear-gloves, mask, gown, and waiting for her to come out. When she did I was standing there all robot-efficient and introduced myself as Nurse-o-tron. Poor lady had to hold onto the railing because she was laughing so hard. That was a good sight. I almost peed myself watching her laugh.
Anyway, we should be outta here today. YAY.
In other news, Lebron sucks.
