Appreciate Every Day

Today it has been one year since I lost a dear friend that I was fortunate to meet on MySpace.

Cayne was just 20 years old and yet we were able to become friends and share our outlook on our lives, and the world in general.  He was a Christian young man who had exceeded quite quickly in school, at just 19 he had his Masters in Psychology.  Originally Cayne was from England, and led a terrible life for such a young man.  His Father abused him for over 10 years in every way imaginable, he eventually went to Prison for 20 years because of what he did.  Cayne's Mom passed away when he was 19, and Cayne made the decision to move to New Zealand to be close to extended family.

Some people will measure wealth by the they have in their bank account, however Cayne measured his wealth by how many people he could Minister to, how many he could lead to Jesus. His plan was to finish one more year of school and be ordained as a Minister and head to New York to Minister in the streets of Brooklyn.

We exchanged e-mail often, learning more about one another, and becoming friends, he was wise beyond his years and touched me deeply.  I found out shortly after his move to New Zealand that his Leukemia was no longer in remission and he was a very sick young man.

He wrote his life history for me and my friend Sharon to share with others, he outlook on life, and it was the most moving testimony I have every read.  We prayed and hoped beyond belief that he could go back into remission, however that was not the case, and within a few days of hearing how sick he was, he was gone.

However, not before he wrote his last will and testament to be posted after his death which turned out to be just a matter of minutes.

Then I found out that Cayne was wealthy beyond those he lead to Christ, he was in reality quite a wealthy young man.  Who, I know without a doubt, would have used that money to help those in need.

Never did he complain about his life, at 19, Father in prison, Mother in Heaven, and moving to live with extended family, only to find out that his dreams of Ministering to others would be cut so short.

His Uncle, Pastor Les who he lived with briefly, is now carrying on his wishes and traveling to preach to young people about his nephew and the Lord.

Fortunate for me, I was able to meet someone on MySpace who has been an inspiration to me, someone who took the "unfortunate" events of his life and turned them into something positive.

At least I know there is a beautiful Angel walking along side the Lord, smiling down on us, and I know without a doubt that Cayne is at peace at Home!

I miss you Cayne, and thank you for all you brought into my life.
