And the Chicago Cubs have once again proven that they are a pathetic excuse for a baseball team. They ended up 71-91 for the season, 20 games under .500. One of the few bright spots for the Cubs was starting shortstop Starlin Castro.


Starlin Castro ended up the season with 207 hits, the most in the National League and at 22 years, 188 days, he is the youngest in the National League to ever lead the league in hits. He ended up the year getting on base in 40 straight games and extended his hitting streak to 10 games.
