Yay, it's up.. and I *love* how you tweaked it! Ah, this is just so damn good, and exactly how I want the S5 opener to play out - the pair of them on the run together, Dean steadfast but justifiably wary, and Sam, overwhelmed and struggling with what's got them to this stage. I love the echoes back to the episodes too - the altered voicemail ( which broke my freaking heart in the show:-), Ruby, Zachariah - you just blended everything in so seamlessly.

Sic transit gloria mundi indeed, my friend.

there's a tiny italics formatting error towards the end

Oh, thank you, thank you, thank you for your feedback and oohs and ahhs. *smiles* Your suggestions were spot on and definitely strengthened the story. I don't really know why this was such a hard story to write but I think it has to do with where the show left Sam. Poor boy was definitely left with nowhere to go... nowhere but Dean, which makes up for an awful lot.

I fixed the italics. Thank you for letting me know! It's amazing how much havoc one html error can wreak.

Arrgh want to read this!!!! How badly would I be spoiled? If it's minor I'll go ahead. If it's major, I'll hold off. At the rate I'm going I'll be through the whole of what's on DVD and/or online by the end of July. Pls advise.

It's wonderful, but back off.*g* MAJOR spoilers, and you'll miss many gorgeous nuances from the closing episodes and story arc of S4..

OK slowing backing away LOL! I'll bookmark it. I think I probably won't read any fic until I'm through watching, to be safe. I'm already unhappy about the few spoilers I already have.

I was the same, I stayed away from all S4 fic until I was done watching it, and I'm very glad I did.

You do a Dean POV that rocks my socks off.

It seems inevitable to me that the show is planning something like this for season 5. "Let heaven and hell try to get between them."

Yeah. Not any more.

(I can only hope that the show does it this well!)

Thanks so much! I'm thrilled you liked my Dean POV because I think that's why it took so long to write this story. I adore Dean, but he's not easy to get right.

And how I hope the show will put them back on the road together. Here's to Season 5. Thanks so much for the lovely feedback.
