Back to the boring life
I got back from my vacation a couple days ago. It was quite different than most years.
For one, we only were there for a week, when it's usually two. We got a voucher on the trip out there, because we volunteered to stay for a later flight. Southwest almost always overbooks their flights. I'm thinking of using it to go back to Nashville. I really miss that place. It doesn't cost that much to fly there, so I should have enough to fly somewhere else, too.
Another way it was different, our family reunion got broken up by the police!! Really... we weren't THAT loud, lol... The park was supposed to close at 10 am, so we were still having a blast at 7:45, when the police came by and said they'd give us a ticket if we weren't out in 15 minutes. It was the fastest our reunion has ever been cleaned up! Quite the adventure. Afterwards, quite a few came back to my aunt's house where we were staying, and we did some karaoke.
We continued the family reunion the next day, by having a pool party at my aunt's house. It started at 11 am, and people were still there at 12:30 am! You know the family loves each other when they can spend more of the day with you, than without you.
Wednesday, we went to a karaoke restaurant. It was quite fun. A few surprises were included. But I won't embarrass any one ;)
Friday, we went to a different karaoke restaurant (oh how I love mexican food! *drool*) and I did quite good, if I say so. Even my cousin got up. He didn't want to, but he did. He didn't do too bad, for a beginner. He probably won't do it again. I was proud of him, though.
One of the biggest differences between this year, and most is that we didn't visit any friends. Most of the time, I'll hook up with an internet friend, but I didn't this time. And we have tons of friends that we've known since we lived out there, but we didnt' see any of them, either.
But overall, I had a wonderful time. The first night of work back wasn't too bad. At least I get paid tomorrow, since I don't have very much money left. If it wasn't for my uncle giving me some on Friday, I wouldn't have any! I love my family.
