Home from the exhibition and I am knackered. Posting this then to bed I think.

spicyshimmy1. favorite smell?
Fresh bread. I always seem to time it right when I'm in the supermarket, passing by the bread aisle and they're just baking it. I'll end up standing there, in the way going "yeah, don't mind me, snorting the smell of bread, it's fine" :P
2. worst...hair cut you've ever had?
Ooh. Not sure if I've ever had one, actually. When I got it cut short the first time (way back in school I tried out short hair) it came as a bit of a shock as I had it so long. Then the second time I got it shoulder length after being down to my waist, I tossed the idea about for ages before I did it. But I like it short, easier to manage and can actually style it up a lot more.
3. do you have any particular habits/preferences/NEEDS when you write? any peculiar rituals?
Not writing on a Saturday night. Which is one hell of a bitch when NaNoWriMo rolls round and I need to catch my word count up. My brain seems to go "nah, it's the weekend, take the night off" and doesn't want me to do anything.
That and not writing anything before midnight. I don't know why. I do most of my writing (the vast majority of the fics posted recently) between midnight and 4am. I marathon it, leave it overnight, read it over to make sure it makes sense and there's no daft typos (which I still miss) then post it.
4. what's your favorite scary story?
Easy, M.R James Lost Hearts. I read that story the first time, when the BBC did a horror season over Xmas and I slept with the light on. Still creeps me out to this day. It's about a boy who goes to live with his cousin, this being his only relative left and cousin has specifically requested he come and stay. Finds the house is haunted and cousin has plans for him *insert sinister music*
5. share your favorite photograph you've ever taken!
Crap, that's a hard one actually.

deviantARTThere's a few that I would count as my favourites, but this one is one of the main ones and more recent. From Stirling cemetary underneath the castle.
And now to bed I think.
