Year in, year out, I say I'll do this thing, not quite sure why but I keep saying it. This year, I'm doing it.
WISHLIST MEME:
Step One:
• Make a post (public, friendslocked, filtered...whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a Dean icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.
• If you wish for real life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.
• Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ so that the holiday joy will spread.
Step Two:
• Surf around your friendslist (or friendsfriends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:
• If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use -- or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free -- do it.
• You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf -- to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not -- it's your call.
• There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just... wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.
I'm easy pleased by the way, so I'd be just as happy with a quick Xmas email or a quick letter/card.
1. Piano music. Any piano music. Classical, piano covers, whatever. I find it really good to work to and I just like it. Always have done.
2. Dragonfly...something, or anything really. Have a thing about dragonflies, and when I say anything, I mean anything. So it can be a picture, drawing, notebook with a nice dragonfly design, whatever.
3. Carol Berg's Daughter of Ancients. If anyone could find me this book I would be forever grateful. I swear it's as rare as hen's teeth, all of her books are, which is annoying for me as she's one of my favourite authors.
4. An SHOrigins icon would be nice, one of Travis. Can't seem to find any good screenshots of him o.O That and I suck at making icons.
5. Rec me stuff. And I do mean stuff. Anime, manga, graphic novels, games, books, music, whatever. I'll try just about anything if it catches my interest. If it's horror, even better, or at least bookwise if it's horror even better.
6. Fics/fanart for any of my fandoms. Been on a SH kick for months now, though art/fics for any one would be appreciated.
Fandoms include:
Legacy of Kain, Silent Hill, Assassin's Creed, Metal Gear Solid (even though I suck at the games), Berserk, Devil May Cry, The Witcher, Hellsing, Wolf's Rain (need to watch the anime again), Doctor Who, Life on Mars, Torchwood, Heroes
7. The Material Realm Raziel figure. Once more, Scotland sucks in terms of getting hold of figures. Again, if anyone could that I would love them forever or any figure for that matter, I'd love them forever.
8. Sketchbooks. I always end up running out of these at all the wrong times i.e when I'm in the mood to draw but have no room in it and can't go for a new one. So A4 sketchbooks/sketchpads would be appreciated.
9. Ink pens. Ever since I tried out these kind of squiggly designs, I've found that ink is so much better for actually doing them in. Only problem is, I can go through a cartridge and a half when I'm doing them, especially if the design takes up a full page.
10. Hair clasps. I swear, I used to have a lot kicking about the house, but now they seem to have sprouted legs and gone walkabout o.O
And that's the lot. As I said, I'm easy pleased. Email at "dpaterson11[at]googlemail.com" for address.
Real update coming soon with back woes, Nano woes and writing woes. Joy.
