So with the upcoming election:

Are you voting?
&
What party are you planning to vote for?
&
Why?

This should be a cool discussion if anyone feels like taking a minute out of their "busy" lives to talk to some of their damn peers. lol

now discuss bitches :P

At my university there have been plenty of ways to learn about what each party stands for... well, for "some reason" the fliers they have handed out contain more information about the Liberals, then a little less on the Conservatives, then even less on the NDPs- none on the other parties.

You have brought up a great point about how fast- paced of a society (term used loosely) we live in and how youth are encouraged to vote, but generally we have no information available to base our decision on. It is hard to track down information unless we do hours of research online to find out ourselves, but really, as citizens should we be obliged to hunt down the all this information for one measely vote?

This brings a debate about how if every person thought of themselves as only "one measely vote" that no one would vote so really, our one vote IS important. But if parties were interested in educating us on their party and tried to convince us by coming to our Universities or something (which is their job- to convince us to vote for them), then maybe I'd be moved a bit more to vote.

political parties DO NOT tell us what they are standing for they do not say what they are planning if they did stephen harper would not be even close to being elected. the whole idea of getting elected is to tell the people what they want to here its a simpel matter of saying theright things and hoping peopel like those thigns then using feed back and modifiing what your sayign to amke it more so what they want to hear. why do you think that they have political scientists and all of those campain managers and such to hjold them up?
