It's not that it is getting better in a visible way right now: those moves take time. Within these past 40 years these topics have been spoken about and thus, will take time for them to be accepted. When I say "time", I mean even a few more hundred years hopefully it will be deemed as normal because the images presented in the media about homosexuals showing affection will be desensitized for the general public. I'm not saying it should be seen as indifferent in the first place, but because it is since the church has enforced heterosexuality as being the only way of life.

"...why is it that two gay guys are more accepted in society than lesbians?!"
At first I disagreed whole-heartedly with this view but my mind has been persuaded otherwise in one context. The chances of a female being jumped because she has a lesbian lover is much less of a chance than a gay male because of stereotypical gender roles. Males should be masculine and provide for the wife; even if these views are changing about women in the work force, we still are aware of pre-determined household roles from what many of us were taught as children.

On second thought, how often is a lesbian taken serious for a sexuailty? She is more inclined to persuade people that it just isn't an experimenting phase or that she's not just "having harmless fun". When a male admits he's gay, more people would tend to believe him because it is harder (as a gender stereotype) for him to share feelings and he's susceptible to ridicule a female wouldn't face as harshly with coming "out of the closet".

Thanks for letting me open my eyes more. That's what this community is all about.
