Yeah its been a few weeks. A crazy crazy few weeks. So far law school has lived up to all the hype, its that intense. I think unfortunately I let it get to me a little the last few weeks, leading me to a lot of negative thought and self-doubt. However, after giving myself a good kick in the ass this week accompanied by some encouraging words from my Civ-Pro prof periodically in class, I am back on the ball and ready to finish this quarter out strong. I still have some ground to cover, my course outlines that I've been working on suck, and I have decided to gut them for anything worth keeping and start over, yet again.
On the positive side, I havn't gotten behind in any of the reading in my courses. This is mainly attributed to the fear of God being put into me during the first week and the incident during the second or third week where I was unprepared to discuss a case in Property and got called on. The material itself isn't too bad, there is just a lot of it, and this makes review a challenge when it comes time to take the test.
I'm not going to get discouraged about this though. As bad as this is, I've been in worse binds. Yeah, I know that they keep saying that this isn't undergrad. That all those times you crammed before exams in undergrad and got A's don't mean anything here. Well, I never really "crammed" before exams in undergrad or truly procrastinated writing papers until the night before, but I have had some pretty wicked deadlines hit me where I basically had to perform miracles in just a few short days. The one I'm particularly proud of was the week where I had the Hawthorne paper due the same day as the Modern Phil and Phil of Mind finals, and then the Phil of Mind paper due two days later. After turning in my Hawthorne paper and taking about 4 hours of excruciating Philosophy finals, I decided that my Phil of Mind paper I had been developing was crap, so I threw out the whole thing and started over (wow that sounds familiar). I picked a new topic, researched it, and wrote 8 pages on it in roughly 2 days. Well, needless to say, that turned out pretty well. This isn't undergrad, but its all about elevating your game to the level you are on, which is all I need to do here. I'll find a way.
On that note, Im going to get back to work
Close is out.
